The Octogenarian Ice Hockey Player

The Octogenarian Ice Hockey Player

We just loved this article and wanted to share it with you. A New Jersey octogenarian says that he never misses playing in his weekly ice hockey games. George Bianchi is 89 years old and says that he has been playing the sport for around 40 years. We look forward to next year when George will be a nonagenarian Ice Hockey player…

This inspiring story reminds us never to write off anyone because of their age. We salute you George Bianchi! Maybe we should set up an ice hockey rink on Magdalen Green this winter?

Our Dementia group gets a make-over

Bridge View House’s Dementia Café is going from strength to strength. Now it is being relaunched with a new, improved and friendly name; ‘The Butterfly Café’.  Families have commented that the café is very informative and helps them immensely.

Our focus on Dementia

We know just how difficult it can be for families whose loved ones have dementia. We do everything we can to support our residents and their families. The Butterfly Café takes place every few months when families and friends are welcome to come to share their experiences and support one another in an informal and relaxing way. The event is organised by our very own Shona.
